Maldives weather
Wind 0.8–2.6 kn across the country right now, sea 0.4–1.8 m. The Maldives is 820 km from end to end, so one national figure is nearly always wrong for somebody. Here it is atoll by atoll.

Wind is the ten-metre mean and its gust, in knots; the bar is that mean against the strongest in the country right now, with a tick for the gust. Sea is significant wave height; swell is the longer-period part of it, which is what makes a crossing uncomfortable. Observed 13 min ago.
The two monsoons
Maldivian weather runs on two seasons, and they have Dhivehi names because they matter. Hulhangu, the south-west monsoon, runs roughly May to November: wind, rain, bigger seas, and the swell that closes the western reef passes. Iruvai, the north-east monsoon, runs roughly January to March and is drier, calmer and the reason that is the busy season.
What the calendar does not tell you is that the changeover is not a date. The shear line between the two commonly sits across the country rather than moving over it in one go, which is why the table above can show twelve knots from the west at Malé and four from the south at Addu on the same afternoon.
Weather and tide together
Wind decides comfort; the tide decides access. A reef pass that is workable at high water can be unworkable three hours later regardless of the forecast, and a harbour with a shallow entrance has a window rather than an opening time.
